Atlas Summaries — Day 4

Group 3B: Cellular Organization — Observations from the Structural Atlas

Today’s synthesis compares five cellular and tissue-level systems:

• Cancer organization
• Tumor invasion
• Morphogenesis
• Wound healing
• Tissue fibrosis

Across all five reductions, the same six structural primitives were identified:

Stable regime. Boundary. Coherence degradation. Sensitivity amplification. Transition. Attractor.

But the systems do not perform the same organizational function:

• Cancer organization: maintenance of pathological organization
• Tumor invasion: expansion of pathological organization
• Morphogenesis: construction of organized tissue
• Wound healing: restoration of organization
• Tissue fibrosis: stabilization of maladaptive organization

The key comparative observation is that physiological and pathological systems can contain the same structural relationships while organizing them toward very different outcomes.
