One of the simplest yet deepest distinctions in nature is between processes that preserve sequence and processes that preserve relationship.
Products carry history. They accumulate phase, preserve order, and naturally generate dissipation.
Ratios preserve proportion. They suppress exact sequence in favor of stable relational structure and persistent coherence.
In Relational Field Theory, this maps onto the difference between transport-dominated regimes and deep storage-dominated wells where structure can persist.
Core principle: Stable structure survives only when stabilization continuously outpaces dissipation.
